Tristan Johns
DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER
Fascinated by van conversions and tiny home concepts, Tristan’s vision for Podhaus took shape when he crafted the first container conversion pod on his family’s farm, Shambala Park, bordering Cape Town. Combining practical skills passed down from his father with a BCom degree and strong business acumen, Tristan founded Podhaus, now a leading luxury pod manufacturer in Southern Africa. -
Robert Wagner
LSF DESIGNER AND PROJECT MANAGER
An adept Light Steel Frame (LSF) designer and project manager, Robert brings over a decade of expertise to Podhaus. His strong leadership, innovative project management, and design skills drive the creation of high-quality, sustainable structures. Robert’s hands-on approach ensures efficient, functional, and aesthetically outstanding pods, resulting in top-tier tiny home living.
How we roll
At Podhaus, we pride ourselves on the quality and craftsmanship that goes into every detail of our pods. Through offsite construction, we implement rigorous quality control to ensure the highest standards. Our designs not only enhance the aesthetics of the space but also prioritise functionality and ergonomics for a comfortable living experience.
Where we came from
Podhaus is the shared ambition of the Johns family, with father and son collaborating to bring it to life. Tristan Johns, the owner and director, has dedicated tireless effort to building Podhaus, with the carpentry and woodworking shop Wildcraft playing a key role in the craftsmanship of each pod’s wood finishes. Clinton Johns, owner of Phoenix Marine and Duroplastic Technologies, instilled a strong vision and a commitment to excellence that continues to guide Podhaus.
